- The gold finish copies the way the Enterprise-C appears in the gold relief on the walls of the Enterprise-D, and at about 16 inches it was the first time the ship had been made at this size. It is the only Enterprise-C DST ever sold: the standard electronic version, unveiled at Comic-Con 2018 for 2019 with lights and sounds, kept slipping, was still DST's Star Trek "priority" in December 2020, and never shipped before the company closed in 2025. Fans had asked for an Ambassador-class ship for years; as late as 2014 DST said it was not in development.
